Simple Machines

A machine is any object which helps in doing any hard work easily. Work is the amount of energy necessary to move an object. An inclined plane is any surface where one end is at a greater height than the other end. A pulley is a simple machine that uses grooved wheels and a rope to raise, lower, or move a load. A lever is a stiff bar that rests on a support called a fulcrum. It lifts or moves loads. Force needs to be applied on one end of the lever to make it move on the other end.
