Skeletal System
The skeletal system includes all of the bones of the body and the tissues that connect them. The bones are held together by the connective tissues. Together they make a system. Bones, ligaments and cartilage are parts of the skeletal system. Bones give the body shape and support, as well as protecting organs and systems. Ligaments are made of tissue that holds bones together at the joints, and make it possible for a person to move their bodies. Cartilage is a cushion at the joints where bones come together. It helps prevent the bones from rubbing against each other and wearing out the bones.
