Transfer of Heat
Heat energy is sometimes referred to as thermal energy. Heat energy is a form of energy transferred by the difference in temperature. All matter is made up of molecules, and the molecules are constantly moving or vibrating. When the temperature rises the molecules move faster and the result is heat energy, which is often referred to as thermal energy. The higher the temperature, the faster the molecules move or vibrate. On the other hand, heat or thermal energy is not temperature. Temperature is how hot or cold an object is, which is measured in Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C).
