Graph Videos

Graphs are usually charts that are used to represent data. We use them to understand information. Learning to analyze graphs is an important part of high school education. These skills can be developed early to help children avoid problems due to lack of knowledge. Turtle Diary team has designed graph videos, with accompanying text that help children understand and extract meaning from graphs and charts. They may not get it right at first, but start slow, so that it is easier for children to comprehend these concepts. Start by asking them to collect information about themselves and their family and friends. Then they must be taught how to record data and use tally marks. Graphing worksheets are a great asset and cover all the standards of this skill, where each form of graphing and charting data has been covered. You can also get children to play interactive games. Here is a list of books you can use to teach children types of graphs, why we use them, line plotting, and tallying.
