Identifying the Sentence in Past Tense Form

There are three simple verb tenses:

• Simple Present - The simple present tense indicates an action that is regular or a general truth or a habit.

The dog barks at the mailman.

 

• Simple Past - The simple past tense indicates an action that began and ended in the past.

The dog barked at the mailman.

 

• Simple Future - The simple future tense indicates an action that will happen in the future.

The dog will bark at the mailman.
