Using Degrees of Adverbs

An adverb is a word that tells more about a verb, adjective, or another adverb. It tells when, where, how, how much, or how often.

You can use adverbs to compare two or more things.

When writing the comparative form of most adverbs with one syllable, we add –er. When an adverb has more than one syllable, the word “more” is used to form the comparative.

When writing the superlative form of most adverbs with one syllable, we add –est. When an adverb has more than one syllable, the word “most” is used to form the superlative.
